​From Brick Kiln to Classroom

 

Rani was only 9 years old when she started working at a brick kiln with her parents. Every morning she carried heavy loads of wet clay bricks under the scorching sun.Her tiny hands were meant to hold pencils and books, but poverty forced her into labour.When the team of My Abhilasha first met her, she had never entered a classroom.

 

She didn’t know how to read or write her own name.Her parents were daily wage labourers who migrated after losing their home during the devastating Cyclone Aila.My Abhilasha intervened and convinced the family that education could change their daughter’s future.Rani was enrolled in school and provided:

• Books and stationery

• School uniforms

• Regular meals

• Academic guidance

 

Initially she struggled to keep up with other students. But her determination was stronger than her difficulties.Today Rani is one of the top students in her class and dreams of becoming a teacher so she can educate children from poor families like her own.

Success Story 2

The Boy Who Sold Balloons

​

Rahul spent his childhood selling balloons outside crowded areas near Nicco Park.

While other children enjoyed rides and laughter inside the park, Rahul stood outside hoping someone would buy a balloon.

​

He often watched school children passing by with backpacks and wondered what it felt like to go to school.

​

Through the intervention of My Abhilasha, Rahul’s life began to change. He was admitted to school and provided with educational support, mentorship, and nutrition.

​

The transformation was remarkable. Rahul gradually became confident in his studies and later developed strong computer skills.

​

Today he works as a computer operator in a small office, supporting his family and proving that opportunity can completely change a child’s destiny.

Success Story 3

A Girl Who Refused to Give Up

​

Mina lost her father at a very young age. Her mother worked as a domestic helper and struggled to support three children. Because of financial hardship, Mina was about to drop out of school and start working. That was when My Abhilasha stepped in.

 

The organization began supporting her education by covering school expenses and providing mentoring. Mina’s dedication was extraordinary. She studied late at night under a small lamp because their house often had electricity problems.

​

Today she has successfully passed her class V examinations and is preparing for higher studies.

Her dream is to become a nurse and serve poor communities.

A Child Rescued from Child Labour

 

A small roadside restaurant once employed a 10-year-old boy washing dishes for long hours every day.When My Abhilasha volunteers noticed him, they spoke with the owner and his family.

 

The boy had dropped out of school because his father was ill and unable to work.After counseling the family, My Abhilasha enrolled him back into school and provided financial support for the household during the transition.

 

Slowly he adjusted to academic life again.Today he is studying in higher secondary school and hopes to pursue vocational training to become an electrician.

Dreams Beyond Poverty

​

Sita grew up in a small slum where education was considered impossible for many children. Her parents believed survival was more important than schooling.

​

My Abhilasha volunteers visited the community and convinced the family to allow Sita to attend school.

​

The organization supported her with:

• Daily nutrition
• Educational materials
• Extra tuition support

​

Sita soon discovered her passion for learning.Today she consistently ranks among the top students in her class and dreams of becoming a civil servant one day.
